Rani Birla Girls’ College has introduced a three year undergraduate course in Fashion and Apparel Design from the 2008-09 academic session. It is one of the maiden ventures of the University of Calcutta. Rani Birla Girls’ College has the unique distinction of offering this course for the first time in West Bengal.

It constitutes an opportunity for students to obtain a degree in a career-oriented course that departs from conventional academic standards and orthodox pedantry of undergraduate programmes. It is open to all students who have passed 10+2 examination from any recognized board. Inviting students with creative skills and a sense of aesthetics, the course is structured with the intent to offer promising prospects to those aspiring for a career in Fashion and Designing. The course curriculum shall allow students to build a career in consonance with a globalised economy and contemporary consumerist trends.
